What is the ECDL?
The ECDL / ICDL is a qualification currently available in 148 countries around the world with over 5.5 million learners. The ECDL is fast becoming a nationally accepted standard for IT user competence and many employers demand their employees have the qualification.
ECDL Training Course Modules
There are 7 modules in the ECDL:
Employees with computer skills constantly out perform those without and with many advances in digital technology a basic understanding of IT is now essential.
The ECDL is a qualification that focuses on the key applications that people use on a day-to-day basis. Gaining the ECDL will improve both your efficiency at work while giving you a transferable qualification that will make you more employable in the future.
ECDL Study Options
When it comes to the learning element of this qualification, Ecom offers 3 options:
- Our comprehensive ECDL programme which is for anyone new to computers or the software and requires significant learning input and support.
- Our standard ECDL Programme is for those already using computers but are using workarounds, have never recieved formal computer training or have only used some software packages.
- Our fast track programmme is for those who already have the required knowledge and simply need to revise and sit their tests.
We also have funding available for anyone who would like to study this course online. All learners are welcome to study at our Cardiff training centre where they can access their ECDL computer based course.
When is the Next ECDL Course?

ECDL Testing and Assessment
At the end of each module there is a test where candidates require 75% + in order to pass. You will need to be at an Intermediate Level (level 2) to pass the ECDL.
